Nostalgic Drift deals with our society’s obsession with longing for things already gone or not meant for us. Memory recall plays a role in the works as well; as we replay memories, we warp the facts around the experience and memory itself. The works are rendered images nearing abstraction. They blur the line between familiar and pure emotion to provoke the viewer into contemplating each piece over and over. Scarring of the birch wood paired with loose brush strokes works together to create an atmospheric haze that keeps viewers from fully understanding the visual elements in front of them.
